Protein Fire Restoration

Protein Fire Example
Picture this: you’ve decided to make some chicken salad, so you start with step 1 – cooking the chicken. While your chicken is cooking on the stove, you step outside to water some flowers. Then, you get distracted by all the things you need to do in the yard so you end up staying out there to pull weeds and sweep the garage. When you come back in the house, it’s filled with smoke, and it’s coming from that pot on the stove! When you look in the pot – THERE’S NOTHING THERE!
Effects of a Protein Fire
What we’ve just described is called a protein fire and it’s one of the toughest restoration scenarios we encounter. The same reason why the pot is empty is why it’s such a tough job. Where did the chicken go? It’s on the cabinets, the walls, the floors, the countertops, the furniture, the floor, and everywhere in between! And that smell? It’s awful! Most homeowners try to clean it on their own, but usually, give up and call their insurance agent after a day or two. That’s where we come in.
After a Protein Fire
Luckily, protein fire restoration projects are opportunities for our contents and cleaning technicians to shine! Check out this video we made on site at a recent project where Valerie tells us how we restore from start to finish.
